The 2025 release of Colonel E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond Straight Bourbon is a landmark entry in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection—the first new permanent addition to BTAC in nearly two decades, and the first bottled-in-bond expression the collection has ever included. Distilled at Buffalo Trace from the historic low-rye Mash Bill No. 1 and matured for fifteen years and four months before bottling at 100 proof under the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, this release honors the legacy of E.H. Taylor Jr., the father of modern bourbon regulation.
Expect a deep, mature nose of caramelized brown sugar, seasoned oak, dark cherry, and baking spice with a distinct note of leather and tobacco leaf. The palate is rich and layered: toffee, fig, rye bread, clove, and a deep char-oak core from fifteen-plus years in the rickhouse. The finish is long, dry, and intricate, with lingering dark fruit, cedar, and a clean bonded-bourbon structure.
This is a sipping bottle, full stop—neat in a Glencairn, or with a single large rock when the oak tannin calls for it. An allocation-only release and a cornerstone bottle for BTAC collectors.
Extremely limited stock at Liquor Geeks—ships with signature required.
