This smooth and splendid bourbon was crafted from Mash Bill #1, similar to other renowned spirits such as Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, and George T. Stagg. It features a lower rye content than Mash Bill #2. The flavor profile is rich and complex, with prominent notes of grain mingling with a delightful blend of butterscotch. On the palate, it is luscious, accompanied by hints of caramelized dark berries that enhance its depth. History
E.H. Taylor Amaranth Grain Of The Gods Bourbon is crafted by a true innovator whose vision was ahead of his time. In 1869, E.H. Taylor acquired a small distillery located in Frankfurt, Kentucky, on the edge of the Kentucky River, originally named The Old Fire Copper Distillery. He began renovating the plant, purchasing copper fermentation tanks, new grain grinding equipment, and unique columnar stills. Taylor implemented innovative distilling techniques, including aging whiskey in climate-controlled Rick houses. During this era, most distilleries added juices and syrups to sweeten their bourbon, while others resorted to adding acid and tobacco. Instead, E.H. Taylor relied on his distilling experience and political connections, partnering with Treasury Secretary John G. Carlisle to pass the Bottled-In-Bond Act in 1897, which ensured the integrity of bourbon production. This fine bourbon is crafted from hand-selected barrels and bottled directly from the barrel at more than 125 proof, representing the authentic bourbon-making traditions of the pre-Prohibition era.
