“Evil Twin I” was produced by Hillrock Estate Distillery, located in the luxuriant Hudson Valley Highlands in New York State.

“This whiskey is delicious,” said Anthrax’s Scott Ian, who recently went up to Hillrock to check out the process, from the planting to distilling to the bottling, and then sampled eight different rye whiskey barrels.  He chose a favorite for “Evil Twin I,”  and then personally pulled the bung and emptied the barrel.  “I’d put this rye up against any rye on the market,” he added.  "The care and attention that went in to it, every step of the way, from the harvesting of the organic rye to the distillation, to the beautiful bottle and the labels, it was made with the highest standards at the highest levels of perfection.”

Award winning Hillrock Double Cask Rye is a unique American whiskey, handcrafted in small batches from 100% rye grain, which is been naturally grown, small batch pot distilled, aged, and bottled all in their Hudson Valley estate. After aging in new #3 char American oak casks, the award-winning whiskey is then aged in #4 char new American oak casks which add layers of caramel and vanilla to complement traditional rye spice.

The Double Cask Rye's deep golden amber color that is highlighted by warm inviting aromas of vanilla and caramel with hints of prune. Apricot and rye spice round out the nose. Initial Carmel sweetness on the palate is followed by mint, clove, and cinnamon spices before fading to a caramel, butterscotch conclusion with a long, warm, and sweet finish.
