Glen Garioch uses new North American white oak barrels for full maturation for their Virgin Oak release. Using brand new barrels for whiskey is becoming quite a trend and the big, bold flavors coming out of this release certainly show it.
Aroma: Oat grain with a little brown sugar, pine scent and vanilla.
Taste: A big chocolate burst, with chewy fudge and sugar-coated candies, followed with oak, surprisingly subtle. Spices and cloves. Complex and tasty.
Finish: beautiful long finish with vanilla and oak spices.
