Producer Description

The Harken Winemaker gets around. He's friends with growers from all over California's top-rated growing regions, which allows him to craft quality and stylish wines that never lack in sophistication and taste. The unique passion that Adam brings to his creations are part of the reason our Harken wines consistently over deliver for the price.Adam is one of our beloved Winemakers at O'Neill. He supervises all harvest activities which include receiving and crushing grapes, supervising barrel and tank programs, and creating bottling blends. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at California State University Long Beach before going on to earn his Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at California State University Fullerton. He had previously worked for Peachey Canyon Winery and Chronic Cellars in Paso Robles and, after completing coursework in enology and chemistry, Adam found his way back to wine. When he's not making wine, Adam enjoys backpacking, surfing, fly fishing and running with his wife and labradoodles.Only the finest California grapes make their way into Harken Wines. We find a bunch of these dazzling grapes in the Arroyo Seco AVA of Salinas Valley. The unique features of this small but diverse grape-growing paradise create a magical blend of depth and character. With the Santa Lucia Mountains rising to the west and Monterey Bay to the north, Salinas Valley is nestled in a coveted area of ideal climate and growing conditions. We're delighted to have access to this small, exclusive region for the most beautiful Chardonnay grapes.
