Care & maintenance

Stainless steel forgives almost everything. Warm water, soft cloth, occasional vinegar rinse.

  • Hand wash recommended: Warm soapy water and a bottle brush reach the bottom. The vacuum seal survives the dishwasher, but the powder coat may dull over repeated cycles.
  • Rinse the spout: Push the button and rinse under running water after each use. Coffee oils and tea tannins clog the valve if left to dry.
  • Descale monthly: Fill halfway with warm water and two tablespoons of white vinegar. Let sit for 30 minutes, rinse thoroughly. This removes mineral buildup and lingering odors.
  • Dry fully before storing: Leave the lid off overnight after washing. Trapped moisture can develop a metallic smell over time.

Frequently asked

How long does it actually keep drinks hot?

Lab-tested performance shows 154°F at 12 hours and 122°F at 24 hours when filled with boiling water and sealed immediately. Real-world numbers drop slightly depending on ambient temperature and how often you open the lid.

Can I use it for cold beverages?

Yes. The vacuum insulation works in both directions, cold drinks stay cold for 48+ hours. No condensation forms on the exterior.

Does the push-button mechanism leak?

The spout seals tightly when not in use and is designed for upright storage. Toss it in a bag sideways and it may weep a few drops. Keep it vertical in a car cup holder or backpack side pocket.

What is the difference between police blue and army green?

Police blue is a deep navy with subtle gray undertones. Army green is matte olive drab. Both use the same electrostatic powder coat process for chip resistance. Pick the one that matches your gear or your mood.

Is 51 oz too big for everyday use?

It holds about six 8 oz cups or three large mugs. Ideal for long road trips, camping, job sites, or all-day desk sessions. If you refill your mug three times a day, this eliminates two of those trips to the kitchen.
