At the end of the 19th century, Dailuaine was the largest single malt distillery in Speyside and also one of the most innovative in terms of design. It was built in 1851 by William Mackenzie and by the 1860s was being serviced by the Strathspey railway. The company now specializes in Cask Finish, Single Cask & Small Batch releases which are bottled at natural colour, without chill filtering and in very limited quantities (total outturn: 754 bottles worldwide). Nose: Creamy and full-bodied, as banana and ginger combine with milk chocolate, vanilla and almond butter.
Taste: Ripe banana and pears with vanilla ice cream, malty cinnamon bun and a gentle hint of ginger and cracked pepper.
Finish: Peppery, spicy and sweet, with cinnamon bun, banana and pear drops.
