History
Michter’s 20 Year Bourbon 2022 is created with tradition in mind at the Michter's Distillery in Kentucky, Louisville. It was crafted in pursuit of Michter’s goal of making the greatest American whiskey. The distillery's roots trace back to the 18th century when Swiss Mennonite farmer John Shenk settled near Pennsylvania's Blue Mountain Valley. To manage an excess of grains, Shenk purchased a still and began distilling whiskey, establishing Michter's as the United States' first distilling company. After years of experimentation with different barrel finishes, Michter’s 20 Year Bourbon is a barrel strength bourbon, aged in a second custom barrel made from 24-month air-dried wood, which is toasted to enhance its flavor profile. This meticulous process results in a rich and complex bourbon that showcases notes of caramel, vanilla, and spice.
