The ORIGAMI Pinot Flavor Cup is designed for the drinker who approaches coffee the way a sommelier approaches wine: with full attention, a deliberate pace, and curiosity about what the vessel itself brings to the experience. Its rounded form concentrates aroma at the rim, so the first thing you encounter is fragrance, before a single sip.

A Craft Worth Knowing

Like every piece in the ORIGAMI range, the Pinot Flavor Cup is made in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, the ceramic heartland of Japan, using the Mino-yaki tradition. That tradition spans four to five hundred years, carried forward today by a small community of artisans who still work the high-density Mino clay by hand.

The ORIGAMI Dripper was originally designed by the founder of Trunk Coffee in collaboration with these makers, and the same philosophy shapes the cups that accompany it: precision in form, restraint in decoration, and an honesty about what the material does best. The Pinot Flavor Cup is the result of that thinking applied to how we hold, smell, and taste.

Designed for Aroma and Comfort

The rounded body of the Pinot Flavor Cup mirrors the shape of a pinot glass, a form long understood to gather and concentrate fragrance. As coffee cools slightly in the bowl, aroma collects and rises, reaching the nose before the cup reaches the lips. This is intentional.

The rim tapers to a thinner wall than the body. It is a small detail that makes a real difference: finer ceramics feel different against the skin, and the contact point of a cup matters more than most people realise until they notice it. The footring keeps the cup stable and slightly elevated, allowing it to be lifted cleanly.

At 290ml, it holds a standard single serve comfortably, with enough space in the bowl to let the coffee breathe. It suits pour over brewed coffee, filter, and tea with equal ease.
