As with all Veuve Clicquot blends, Demi-Sec is predominantly Pinot Noir (50%), which gives the champagne its strength. The pursuit of distinct fruit flavors means that there is a higher level of Meunier (30%) in the blend than would typically be found in Yellow Label, for example, and Chardonnay completes the blend (20%). The inclusion of up to 45% reserve wines ensures the consistency of the Veuve Clicquot style. The 3 years aging in Crayères brings silkiness to the Champagne. Finally, a dosage of 45 g/L gives Demi-Sec the final balance of flavors. Contains sulphites.
With its equilibrium that tends towards sweet and fruit flavors, Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec Champagne is an indulgent treat and perfectly suited for powerful cheeses, dessert and world cuisine.
After additional cellaring (two to three years, or even more in the right conditions), Demi Sec develops even richer notes of praline or toasts.
