Waka WAKACOFFEE® Decaf Medium Roast Instant Coffee is decaffeinated freeze-dried coffee made from 100% Arabica beans from Colombia, decaffeinated using the natural EA method with natural acetic acid and natural ethyl alcohol. A 2 teaspoon serving contains approximately 3 mg of caffeine, compared with roughly 95 mg in a standard 8 fl oz cup of drip coffee. It is a clean-label coffee: no added sugar or sweeteners, no fillers, and no artificial flavors or colors. The 3.5 oz pouch makes about 35 cups.
How is Waka decaf coffee decaffeinated?
Using the natural EA (ethyl acetate) method, with natural acetic acid and natural ethyl alcohol rather than synthetic solvents like methylene chloride.
Is decaf coffee completely caffeine free?
No. Decaffeination removes most but not all caffeine. This coffee contains approximately 3 mg per 2 teaspoon serving, roughly 3 percent of a standard cup of drip coffee. US regulations require decaffeinated coffee to have at least 97 percent of its caffeine removed.
Does the decaf taste different from the regular medium roast?
Both are medium roast Colombian Arabica with the same well-balanced, smooth-bodied profile and citrus notes. The decaf is slightly softer in body.
How do you make iced decaf coffee?
Dissolve the coffee in a small amount of hot water first, then top with cold water, milk, or ice. A handheld frother also works for mixing directly into cold liquid.
